The storm composer

Matthieu is a young music genius who, fascinated by the magic of Versailles and its wild parties, yearns to be a part of Luis XIV’s orchestra. What he cannot imagine is that a brutal murder will open up the palace doors for him to carry out the monarch’s most ambitious project: to transcribe the melody of the human soul.

He will soon discover that he is not the only one who covets that music score, a score amongst whose notes lies hidden the alchemist formula which will allow its owner to learn the secrets of the universe. To win that race, Matthieu will embark on a dangerous expedition to Madagascar, the last unexplored Eden, a legendary island chosen because of its purity to guard the most ancient music of all times. From then on, he will face death at every step he takes, whilst a whole new world full of romanticism opens up for him; a world that will bewitch him almost as much as a beautiful and mysterious woman who seems to have been waiting for him…

Opiniones

“Andres Pascual’s novel unites something difficult: the value of a well documented historical context and the intensity of the narrative plot. These two elements make of <<The storm composer>> a work which is read with increasing interest.”
